STATIONERY + Daily Routine
In this lesson, I introduced my Grade 4 students to the language of ownership using common stationery items. The goal was simple but exciting: help students confidently ask and answer questions like “Is this your pencil?” using Yes, it is. / No, it’s not., while also practicing my and your in real situations.
We started with a fun stationery vocabulary song, followed by an engaging activity using AI-generated photos and videos of the students holding their own items. This instantly captured their attention and made the lesson more personal and meaningful. This is the song I used:
To make learning even more interactive, students used real objects from a Lost and Found Box and played a class game where they had to honestly guess the owner by asking, “Is this your ___?” Teams earned points, practiced speaking naturally, and learned to use the target phrases with confidence.
We ended with a lively Kahoot quiz to review vocabulary and sentences, and students added their points to Class Dojo, making the wrap-up both rewarding and fun.
This two-period lesson successfully combined music, technology, real objects, and teamwork—turning a simple grammar target into a memorable classroom experience.
