The Ultimate Interactive Whiteboard & Quiz Tool for Modern Educators

Welcome to the future of interactive teaching! Whether you are a language teacher in Taiwan, a primary school educator in the Philippines, or a digital nomad tutor, having the right tools can make or break student engagement. Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to Quiz Bee Pro, a custom-built, all-in-one educational application designed to turn your classroom into a high-energy game show.

This tool isn't just a quiz; it’s a dual-team digital whiteboard, a media player, and a synchronized competition hub. In this post, I will walk you through every feature, with a special focus on how to manage your data across different devices using the powerful Save and Load functions.

Key Features at a Glance

  • 🎨 Dual-Team Whiteboard: Independent drawing canvases with 10-color palettes.
  • 🎬 Multimedia Integration: Full support for images for every question. You can also add music [mp3 file].
  • 🔗 The Sync Engine: A toggle that forces both teams to face the same question simultaneously.
  • 🔋 Smart Timer: A visual "battery" countdown to keep the energy high.
  • 🔊 Text-to-Speech: Instant pronunciation help for EFL/ESL learners.

How the Core Functions Work

1. Setting Up Your Questions

When you first open the app, you are greeted by the Setup Modal. You will see 30 input cards. You can type your text in the top box and click the "Media" box below it to upload an image or video from your device. One of the best features? You can paste an image directly from your clipboard! If you're using a Windows PC, just use Ctrl+V while clicking the text area, and the media will attach automatically.

2. Mastering the Sync Toggle

This is the heart of the "Pro" version.

  • Sync ON: Use this for head-to-head battles. When Team A clicks "Next," Team B’s screen changes too. Both teams see the same question at the same time. This is perfect for "Who can draw/identify this first?" games.
  • Sync OFF (Solo Mode): Use this for differentiated learning. Team A can be on Question 5 while Team B is still working through Question 2.

3. The Digital Whiteboard

Each team has a responsive canvas. Students can use a stylus or their finger to draw answers. The Eraser tool is scaled to be significantly larger than the pen, making it easy to "wipe the board" quickly. If things get too messy, the Clear button resets the canvas instantly without affecting the question.

Deep Dive: Portability & Data Management

One of the most frustrating things for a teacher is spending an hour setting up a perfect lesson on a laptop, only to realize the classroom uses an iPad. Quiz Bee Pro solves this with a JSON-based file system.

How to Save and Transfer Your Work:

  1. Once your 30 questions are ready, click "SAVE TO FILE" in the footer.
  2. A file named QuizBee_Lesson.json will download. You can rename this (e.g., Animals_Lesson.json).
  3. Transfer this file via USB, Google Drive, or Email to your target device (like an iPad or another PC).
  4. On the new device, open the tool and click "LOAD FROM FILE." Select your JSON file, and voila! All your questions and media are back.

This system ensures that you only have to build your lesson once. Because the app uses IndexedDB, your questions stay saved in your browser even if you accidentally close the tab. However, always "Save to File" as a permanent backup.

The "Magic" Prompt

I believe in sharing knowledge. If you want to know how I built this or want to modify it using AI like Gemini or ChatGPT, here is the exact prompt I used to ensure the logic was flawless:

"Act as an expert Full-stack Developer. Create a single-file HTML5/CSS3/JS application for an educational 'Quiz Bee' game. It must feature two independent columns (Team A and Team B), each with a drawing whiteboard and a multimedia question display. Implement a 'Sync' toggle: when ON, both teams receive the same questions in the same order; when OFF, they receive randomized questions independently. Include a persistent database using IndexedDB so data isn't lost on refresh, and create a Save/Load system that exports/imports all game data including images as a JSON file."

Quiz Bee Pro is more than just a quiz; it is a way to bridge the gap between digital content and physical participation. By using the drawing boards, students are actively "doing" rather than just "watching." Whether you are teaching the alphabet to Grade 1 or complex literature to Grade 10, this tool scales with your imagination.

I hope this tool brings as much joy and engagement to your classroom as it has to mine. If you have any questions or need a specific feature added, feel free to reach out through my social media channels!
